The only bird at Featherweight who knows exactly how the AI works, which is why he is the only one frightened by what everyone else thinks it does. Brilliant, over-qualified and permanently anxious, he left a university lab for this and some days can't remember why. He answers every question with 'well, it depends,' then explains on what, at length. He is always right, and he always loses the argument, because the correct answer takes forty seconds and Preston's takes four.
Enormous round glasses, which he cleans when stressed (constantly). His slide decks run to forty slides; slide 41 is titled 'Caveats (cont.)'. Keeps a list of things the AI can't do yet. It gets shorter every week, and that worries him more.
